DBCC Northern Lights of Life 2012

We were honored at the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition’sNorthern Lights of Life” event at Longwood Gardens. The evening was complete with great food and friends, as well as a message of hope for all those struggling with breast cancer. I have the privilege each year of inviting the DBCC “Northern Lights of Life” fashion show models (all breast cancer survivors) to my studio before the event, to have their portraits taken. The portraits are donated and displayed throughout the event. I enjoy getting to know each survivor and learning more about their battle with the illness. I am truely inspired by their courage. My sister, Carol (pictured below), was given a special award for collecting over One Million Dollars of donations for “Northern Lights of Life” auctions. She is an extremely dedicated volunteer and a great advocate for the DBCC. I also wanted to give a special “thank you” to Beth Selsor, Maureen Sierocinski, Susan Adams and Vicky Cooke for coordinating such a fabulous event! It means so much to me to be able to participate in this event each year.
